Well, there have been many reasons for the lack of blogging, the most important one being that Chris and I are expecting a baby next fall. We were hoping to be able to tell a lot of people individually before broadcasting it on the blog but it is hard with the time difference and our work schedules. Chris was away from Dubai for almost a month between his project in Saudi and a trip to Barcelona. There was little time for phone calls so we are sorry if you didn't get an announcement straight from the source before now. I am nearing the end of the first trimester and hoping that any day now will be the day I wake up and don't feel sick all day long. I have been fighting this dreadful all day sickness with every tactic I could think of: yoga, meditation, optimism, healthy food, lots of rest but at the end of the day I just had to accept that this is just how I feel right now! Everyone says it passes before you know it and you forget all about it so I am trusting that. For now I am still scarred by some very embarrassing public puking episodes, they really dredge up awful elementary school memories. The worst thing about being an adult and spontaneously puking is that people think you're drunk especially when you are at a hotel in Dubai that serves alcohol. Oh well! I have started my new job and have to get back to work asap. I am a production assistant for a news correspondent here from the US and I love the job but right now it is exhausting because it is all new and it is a lot of work. Chris is back in Dubai for a while on a project here which is nice. The weather is perfect right now, late Spring/early Summer weather and the beach is nice!
In other news I did go to Spain to meet Chris for a few days and I will be posting some pictures and stories as soon as I get a break from work.
